projects as diverse as websites, micro sites, gaming, CDRoms, interactive desktop applications, touch screens, interactive walls, online advertising, mobile and wireless content the development team has grown and now demands an experienced Technical Manager to sit between the team and their existing Technical Director.
Working with a team of creatives, front-end interface and back-end developers this position requires a good, overall technical knowledge and understanding from a delivery perspective. The Technical Manager will also be responsible for helping drive the use of creative technology in the agency and help put in place processes and structures to do this in the most effective way.
The Ideal Candidate will be skilled in the efficient delivery of web based content and applications. As a skilled Technical Manager it is also expected that you will be able to ensure that projects are delivered with a minimal number of errors or bugs.
It is also essential that you have some previous experience implementing technical processes and setting up development environments.
Experience of working on consumer-facing sites would be a definite advantage along with a thorough, broad, innovative knowledge and understanding of the Internet and emerging technologies in particular mobile technology/Web 2.0 issues.
Mentoring and managing other members of the team in the development of the above skills and ensuring work is done correctly is also key.
Candidates will also be expected to have experience of working in a team environment with separate designers and server-side (&ldquoback-end&rdquo) software engineers.
Knowledge of SourceSafe or SVN and its implementation on team level is desirable
Experience of Back-End application servers and end-to-end infrastructure is essential.
Due to the nature of the role Digital Agency experience at Technical Manager or Leader level is highly desirable.
