Effective writing
Client:
Amnesty International
Description:
I designed and delivered training for a wide range of staff in writing reports that will get read
Brief:
To coach staff from across the organisation, many of whom do not have English as their first language, to create effective and compelling reports from research material, and to write introductions to those reports that will be read by opinion formers, media, campaigners, supporters and other defined target reader groups.
The training was designed to dovetail with a recent rebranding exercise that outlines key requirements of Amnesty publications.
Response:
I began with a series of training sessions on headline writing, which was very well received. As a result I was commissioned to develop training in writing introductions to reports. This project is ongoing.
