Samuel will lead the business in the UK and support its continued international growth. Buzzoole opened its London office, its first outside its native Italy, in 2016. In April it was selected to join the UK Trade and Investment’s Global Entrepreneur Programme and has since been selected to be part of Unilever Foundry (a start-up collaboration programme) and Facebook Start.
Buzzoole was established in 2013 and has since become the de-facto influencer marketing company in Italy. The platform already has over 210,000 mid-tier influencers signed up and uses an influencer affinity algorithm to match brand to creators. Brands are then able to use the platform to select, activate and manage 100s of social posts simultaneously.
Samuel joins from Brave Bison (formerly Rightster), where as Chief Commercial Officer he ran the company’s UK and Asian operation.
Fabrizio Perrone, CEO and co-founder, Buzzoole, comments: “This appointment will be critical for us as we build on our European success and develop Buzzoole for the future. Ian is a pioneer in this space and will be an invaluable addition to the business as we continue to grow and develop.”
Ian Samuel comments: “As the influencer space gathers pace and continues to fragment we are seeing new platforms and agencies pop up on an almost weekly basis! Many brands are now moving away from big, expensive, hard-to-work-with You Tubers to figure out how they can automate and measure campaigns through passionate, verticalised, mid-tier talent on Facebook and Instagram. The Buzzoole platform offers an end-to-end platform solution going some way to automating “word-of-mouth” for brands and agencies. I can’t wait to get started!”
