				<title>Client Education - Why the Big Secret?</title>
				<link>http://www.creativematch.co.uk/blogs/JackieHole-SEO&PPCExpert/front.cfm?action=display_blog&amp;amp;bid=5E59940B-1185-BAC1-E93940D753AB0C98</link>
<description>There seems to be a paranoia that if you teach your clients &apos;how to do it&apos;&amp;nbsp; they will take their SEO &amp;amp; PPC work in house, but in my experience, clients appreciate a little transparency as it helps them understand what you do for the money they pay you.
I dont know a single client that wouldn&apos;t like to &apos;have a go&apos;, but most also know that their time is best spent growing their business rather than try to figure out how to do your job.
What&amp;nbsp;clients want is to trust that you have their business interests at heart, and if they don&apos;t understand that your knowledge has value, and is important for their business, it is YOUR FAULT, not theirs.
A few years ago with that in mind, I decided to take the plunge and wrote a series of SEO and PPC training courses (against the judgement of my colleagues for the above reasons), but what&amp;nbsp;I found was&amp;nbsp;that most of my course participants could see straight away that search and search marketing was far more involved than they had anticipated, saw the value of professional help, and soon became my PPC &amp;amp; SEO clients.
I now regularly keep my clients&apos; knowledge up to date and find it a bonus that&amp;nbsp;clients have a little more understanding about what I am doing for their business, and welcome pro-active suggestions, as ultimately, they&amp;nbsp;also know more about their business than I do...
Take the plunge, why not spend a little more time with your clients this month, (for free!). Send them a few articles, give them a pro-active presentation, let them see their stats if it makes them happy, and remember that they are paying you for a service that they don&apos;t completely understand and that there may be someone round the corner that may not be as good, but that can explain things a whole lot better!
I hope this helps, and I would love to hear some success stories!
